Role Overview

This position involves working within a warehouse operating across three temperature zones: chill (+3°C), ambient (+12°C), and freezer (-25°C). As a Warehouse Operative, you will support the efficient operation of a Distribution Centre serving one of Ireland’s largest retailers. You will receive a competitive pay rate of €15.78 per hour plus a 20% premium for weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely within fixed temperature zones, ensuring precise picking and assembling of goods
• Consistently meet or exceed set efficiency and accuracy targets
• Safely handle assigned equipment including mechanical handling tools and arm-mounted computers
• Follow all health and safety guidelines, taking responsibility for personal and coworkers’ safety and helping reduce workplace hazards
• Adhere strictly to stacking, caging, pick-by-line, and wrapping protocols within the depot
• Follow procedures for goods reception and dispatch
• Embody and promote Keelings’ core values in daily interactions with colleagues
• Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
• Strong work ethic complemented by attention to detail
• Previous warehouse experience preferred but not required
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and achieve targets
• Demonstrated commitment and dedication to the role
• Must hold an EU Passport or valid work permit such as Stamp 1 or Stamp 4 to work full time

Working Conditions and Shift Patterns

The warehouse operates year-round with shifts scheduled across seven days, requiring availability for a rotating weekly shift pattern. Chill area shifts are 6am-2pm, 7am-3pm, 12pm-8pm, 2pm-10pm (night shift), and 7:30pm-6am. Freezer shifts include 6am-2pm or 8am-4pm for AM shifts, and 2pm-10pm for PM shifts (Monday to Friday only). Due to extremely low freezer temperatures, operatives adhere to a cycle of 1.5 hours working followed by a 30-minute warm-up break with provision of specialist freezer suits.
