Role Summary

The Vehicle Detailer position involves cleaning and preparing vehicles received by the Detail Shop to meet sales-ready standards aligned with customer and auction requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform exterior cleaning including bug removal, pre-soaking, soaping, rinsing, drying, as well as cleaning wheels and tires, plus buffing and waxing vehicles.
• Ensure the interior is free of debris and clean ashtrays, dashboards, panels, vinyl, windows, carpets, and upholstery thoroughly.
• Inspect detailing work to confirm quality meets company and customer specifications, using visual and tactile assessment methods, and track vehicle flow with detail sheets.
• Identify and reject substandard vehicles, returning them to the shop for correction, prepare necessary reports, and re-inspect as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of wash bays and work zones throughout shifts and at day’s end.
• Operate vehicles into and out of wash bays and navigate auction lanes on sale days.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Prior related experience is advantageous.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and safe driving history.
• Preferred ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Capability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Required visual abilities include depth perception, focus adjustment, and close-range sight.

Working Environment

• Regular exposure to humid or wet conditions.
• Environmental factors include outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts, electrical shocks, fumes, dust, and odors.
• Moderate noise levels.
