Company Overview
Moove is pioneering mobility technologies by building the worldwide largest fleet and innovative platforms enabling vehicle ownership through a unique revenue-based financing model. Their Drive-to-Own product facilitates access to vehicle ownership for underserved entrepreneurs, supported by global partners including Uber, Mubadala, BlackRock, MUFG, and others, operating across 19 cities globally. They are championing safer, more accessible, and efficient transport with partnerships spanning Waymo and Uber.
Role Summary
As a Validation Driver, you act as the certified safety overseer onboard Moove's autonomous vehicles during pilot operations. Although the vehicle drives autonomously, your role is to continuously monitor system performance, communicate clearly with the Remote Operations Centre in real time, log all relevant data comprehensively, and take control manually if a safety-critical situation arises. This position demands collaboration with engineers and trainers, adherence to structured validation protocols, and contributing critical data to enhance the autonomous vehicle system.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain constant situational awareness while seated as the safety operator during autonomous operations.
- Observe the vehicle’s driving behavior, sensor readings, and system alerts throughout the shift.
- Intervene and manually drive the vehicle immediately upon system request or if safety conditions warrant.
- Continuously communicate with the Remote Operations Centre using onboard tools, delivering clear, precise status updates in English.
- Rigorously complete pre-trip, in-trip, and post-trip safety checklists.
- Execute designated validation routes across Dubai as guided by trainers and engineers.
- Document all system events, interventions, anomalies, and external factors accurately using digital logging platforms.
- Log details for any vehicle takeovers including triggers, location, speed, context, and outcomes.
- Record photographic and written notes on road conditions and infrastructure affecting vehicle performance.
- Complete full shift reports and incident documentation with no omissions prior to shift completion.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift, reporting equipment or sensor issues promptly.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean, charged or fueled appropriately, and parked correctly at shift end.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a valid UAE driving license, free from major violations for at least three years.
- Have a minimum of three years active driving experience within the UAE or GCC, with strong familiarity with Dubai traffic and road conditions.
- Demonstrate professional proficiency in English for clear written and verbal communication.
- Be technologically adept, comfortable with tablets, touchscreen devices, and onboard software; prior use of fleet or delivery app systems is an advantage.
- Maintain composure under pressure, capable of swift, accurate decision-making in unforeseen situations.
- Exhibit meticulous attention to detail in documentation, checklists, and reports.
- Have RTA safety driver certification or experience with AV/ADAS systems (preferred but not mandatory, training available).
- Hold at least a secondary school certificate; technical diplomas or qualifications in automotive, engineering, or IT fields are beneficial.
- Be flexible to work shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as program demands.
Performance Metrics
- Start every shift punctually with a fully inspected and operational vehicle.
- Ensure all events and observations are logged thoroughly before shift completion with no gaps.
- Produce actionable reports that engineers can use directly without clarifications.
- Take manual control at optimal times ensuring smooth handover and maintaining safety.
- Guarantee safety of passengers and surrounding road users throughout all routes.
Team and Culture
Reporting to the Validation Trainer and collaborating closely with Operations, team members are encouraged to think quickly, communicate openly, and contribute to an inclusive environment. Moove promotes diversity and equal opportunity employment, supporting a culture where innovation in mobility is accessible for all.
