Job description

About Forcepoint

Forcepoint is a global leader in simplifying cybersecurity for businesses and government organizations. With over two decades in the industry, 2,700 employees, presence in 150 countries, and more than 11,000 customers, Forcepoint delivers an integrated cloud-native platform designed to facilitate Zero Trust adoption and safeguard sensitive data and intellectual property regardless of working location. The company holds over 300 patents and strives to create a safer digital environment.

Role Overview

The UX Product Designer will spearhead a full modernization initiative for the DSPM (Data Security Posture Management) platform's visual and interaction design. The goal is to evolve the platform from being functionally proficient to exhibiting a visually modern, sophisticated, minimalistic, and polished appearance while preserving clear information architecture and usability standards. This hands-on role involves directly shaping how security teams interact with and comprehend complex datasets and establishing design standards to ensure consistent usability quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the UX design lead, product owners, and engineers to define user experience requirements upfront and stay engaged through quality assurance and release.
  • Create and maintain a modern visual language and interaction patterns tailored for data-intensive interfaces, and define a coherent design system incorporating tokens, components, and patterns to underpin future work and guarantee consistency.
  • Drive a complete redesign of DSPM's analytics components including charts, tables, filters, data cards, and gauges by developing information architectures and visual hierarchies that make dense datasets easier to scan and act upon.
  • Regularly conduct UX assessments applying usability principles such as Nielsen's heuristics, document any deviations, and prioritize initiatives to improve them.
  • Design intricate, multi-step workflows that support security operations like threat detection, policy enforcement, and risk evaluation, leveraging modern AI-assisted design tools for ideation and rapid prototyping focused on resolving critical user challenges.
  • Partner deeply with frontend engineers through a component-first implementation approach, viewing them as key collaborators rather than simply handoff points.
  • Create detailed design specifications including Figma prototypes and interaction documentation to guide development and provide fast feedback to maintain high-quality outputs.
  • Ensure design integrity at product release by performing thorough audits and providing design approvals.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years experience designing enterprise desktop software products.
  • Demonstrable portfolio with strengths in data visualization UIs (dashboards, charts, tables, and complex workflows), component or pattern libraries, and high-quality modern visual design.
  • Proficiency in Figma used as the primary design tool.
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to design systems or component libraries.
  • Strong visual design expertise coupled with a solid understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Ability to evaluate UX designs through the lens of established usability heuristics rather than intuition alone.
  • Collaborative mindset, thriving in partnership with engineering and product teams.

Preferred But Not Mandatory

  • Experience with enterprise security or B2B products.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn AI-assisted design tools.
  • Design experience catering to power users and technical audiences rather than consumer-focused designs.
  • Comprehensive product understanding, having shipped features across multiple areas and thinking about systems holistically.

Work Approach and Traits

  • Meticulous attention to visual and interaction details to deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Ability to analyze large features, propose multiple design alternatives, and negotiate smart compromises balancing vision, implementation feasibility, and resources.
  • Deep product knowledge, investing time to understand workflows, user mental models, and the competitive context behind design decisions.
  • Proactive identification of gaps and user-centered solution proposals without waiting for direction.
  • Clear communication and ability to rationalize design decisions to engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
  • A humble iterative approach, seeking and incorporating feedback frequently from diverse stakeholders and real users.
  • Focus on releasing practical designs and learning from real-world usage rather than waiting for perfection.

Diversity and Inclusion commitment

Forcepoint embraces diversity and strives to foster an inclusive work environment. The company welcomes applicants with varying backgrounds and experiences, encouraging those whose skills and interests align with the role even if they do not meet every qualification fully.

Equal Opportunity Employer

Forcepoint provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination based on legally protected characteristics. Reasonable accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities or disabled veterans who need assistance with the application process.
