Job description

Role Overview

The Transportation Specialist for Auction Services plays a crucial role in supporting the Transportation department by managing aspects related to commercial, residential, and abandoned vehicles, facilitating lot sweeps and marshalling, and overseeing physical auction operations. This position follows established departmental procedures to coordinate vehicle removals and resolve logistical challenges, contributing to the smooth functioning of the ACV Transportation product. This role requires collaboration with carriers, customers, and various internal teams and operates under limited supervision. The working shift is from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently aid efforts to streamline and improve the customer journey.
  • Handle inquiries related to sellers and lot sweeps by managing transactions and communication to facilitate prompt resolutions.
  • Refer tasks and queries to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Ensure vehicles are removed punctually from partner locations coordinating with transporters, storage partners, and residential customers.
  • Collaborate with Major Accounts and Product & Technology teams to identify opportunities for process enhancements and customer satisfaction improvements.
  • Seek out, assess, and maintain a network of quality transportation services and storage yards, ensuring service quality and relationship retention.
  • Use Salesforce to document and monitor transportation services and storage yard networks effectively.
  • Adjust transport pricing and assign carriers to ensure prompt, cost-efficient vehicle movement.
  • Work closely with internal departments, sellers, buyers, and carriers to track transport job statuses.
  • Negotiate competitive contract rates with high-volume carrier partners.
  • Regularly review aged inventory and report findings to the Abandoned Vehicles team.
  • Assist the Payments team with partner invoice reconciliation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department objectives.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 1 to 2 years' experience in customer service or within the transportation sector.
  • Intermediate skills in problem-solving and team collaboration internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with strong communication and organizational abilities.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Familiarity with business software tools such as Microsoft Office or G Suite and Salesforce CRM platform.
