About the Role
Bulmers Ireland, renowned for its premium cider production based in Clonmel and offices in Dublin, is seeking a Transport Operations Trainer to contribute to a secure and efficient operational environment within its depots. This pivotal role involves performing driver evaluations, pinpointing skill development areas, and administering both practical road and classroom training customized for transportation operations.
Key Duties
- Conduct comprehensive driving assessments for new and current commercial drivers, especially those involved in at-fault accidents, recommending retraining or further actions.
- Observe driver behavior to enforce safe work practices, provide specialized Driver CPC training, and conduct vehicle familiarization sessions.
- Offer support on driver inquiries related to tachograph regulations and Working Time Directive compliance.
- Facilitate toolbox meetings, assist in accident investigations, and uphold driver and vehicle quality standards.
- Coordinate inductions for new drivers and maintain detailed training documentation.
- Engage actively in Health & Safety committee activities and collaborate with various internal teams including Depot, Operations, Fleet Compliance, Health & Safety, Transport Management, and Human Resources.
- Interact with external organizations such as the Traffic Commissioner, DVSA, and vehicle service providers.
- Analyze driver performance data and lead initiatives to improve compliance and training outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proficient knowledge of transport regulations, Drivers Hours legislation, and fundamental health and safety standards.
- Possession of a full C+E (Class 1) HGV license, clean driving record, and at least five years of operational driving experience.
- Certification as a Driver Assessor, current Driver CPC credential, and an active Digi card are mandatory.
- Competency in tachograph data analysis and essential IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Preferably holds RTITB certification, prior driver assessment or instruction experience, road traffic collision training, and familiar with tools like Microlise or EPOD.
