About the Role
The Transport Operations Coordinator supports the daily management of the transport department to ensure smooth, compliant, and cost-effective running of the fleet. This position is based in Lusk, Co. Dublin, reporting directly to the Transport Director.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with daily transport scheduling and operational planning to align with service demands.
- Monitor vehicle locations and address issues as they arise to maintain smooth transit operations.
- Support route planning efforts and optimize the use of available transportation resources.
- Manage last-minute adjustments including delays and re-routing.
- Serve as a critical liaison for drivers, offering support and addressing queries during their shifts.
- Ensure drivers comply with regulations regarding working hours and safety standards.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and fleet management to track vehicle readiness and record any defects or incidents.
- Communicate with customers about deliveries, collections, and any service interruptions, liaising also with depots, warehouses, and external hauliers.
- Maintain and update the Transport Management System (TMS) accurately, track key performance indicators such as punctuality and fleet utilization.
- Support processing of proof of delivery documents, invoicing procedures, and resolving operational queries.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with transport laws, safety protocols, and company policies, including participation in audits and incident investigations.
- Promote a culture of safety and regulatory adherence throughout all transport operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience in transport or logistics operations is essential.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic setting.
- Strong communication skills coupled with problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when working under pressure.
Preferred Attributes
- Familiarity with Irish and European Union transport regulations.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems or fleet management software.
- Background in haulage, logistics, or distribution industries is advantageous.

Shift Schedule
Work pattern consists of 4 days on followed by 4 days off, with shifts running from 05:00 to 17:00.
