Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Design, configure, install, and troubleshoot comprehensive network infrastructure components such as firewalls, switches, and monitoring systems.
- Regularly verify and update configurations for all DMZ switches, routers, and firewalls following established policies.
- Analyze logs from DMZ firewalls, routers, switches, and Intrusion Protection Systems to ensure security and performance.
- Administer and maintain FortiGate, Juniper, and Sophos firewalls including managing security policies, VPNs, NAT, and intrusion prevention features.
- Set up and support Cisco and Hirschmann industrial switches, ensuring high availability and optimal operation.
- Oversee Network Monitoring Stations utilizing tools like WhatsUp Gold, conducting health checks and performance assessments.
- Perform risk evaluations, apply patches, and maintain compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Handle network incidents and outages by performing root cause analyses and implementing corrective measures.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams on firewall policies, segmentation strategies, and access controls.
- Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and change management procedures.
Qualifications and Expertise
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in science focusing on Information Security and Networking.
- Entry-level experience within the IT Security field.
- Cisco CCNAv7 certification covering fundamentals of networking, switching, routing, and wireless essentials.
- Certification in Artificial Intelligence applications for cybersecurity from Cybernet.
- Work experience in IT Security domains, including Security Operations, Risk Management, Compliance, and Security Monitoring.
- Proficiency with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools such as Kaspersky Anti-Virus, Microsoft Defender EDR, Forcepoint DLP and Proxy, Akamai DNS, and IBM QRadar.
