Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily trade finance functions including Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby LCs, Bank Guarantees, Bills of Exchange, and associated banking operations
- Liaise with banks, clients, and suppliers to ensure efficient and timely processing of trade finance paperwork
- Verify compliance of trade documents with international trade norms and banking standards
- Track payment transactions, reconcile accounts, and resolve any inconsistencies
- Collaborate with internal teams such as commercial, procurement, and logistics to align shipment and payment schedules
- Generate trade finance reports, supervise banking facilities, and aid in cash flow and funding forecasting
- Maintain detailed records to support audit processes
- Stay updated with developments in trade finance regulations, banking methodologies, and international trade compliance
Qualification and Experience
- Possess a Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or similar fields
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in trade finance or banking operations, ideally within commodities, metals, or international trade sectors
- Solid understanding of key trade finance principles including UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms, and SWIFT transactions
- Skilled in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel abilities; familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial
- High attention to detail combined with strong organizational and analytical capabilities
- Capable of working autonomously, prioritizing tasks effectively, and fulfilling strict deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with both internal departments and external parties
