Tooling CAD Junior Engineer II

Overview

The Tooling CAD Junior Engineer II plays a key role in supporting the creation and refinement of tooling designs using advanced CAD software. This position assists senior engineering staff to ensure tooling solutions meet quality, specification, and manufacturing standards for a diverse product lineup.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models for tooling elements such as molds, fixtures, jigs, and assembly aids utilizing CAD tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
• Implement design changes and updates prompted by engineering revisions, manufacturing feedback, or review input.
• Create comprehensive manufacturing drawings incorporating proper dimensions, tolerances, and material details.
• Contribute to design reviews by incorporating constructive feedback and modifying tooling concepts accordingly.
• Evaluate tooling designs to enhance manufacturability, ease of assembly, and cost efficiency.
• Organize and maintain thorough records of CAD files, drawings, and revision logs to ensure document integrity.
• Work collaboratively with teams across manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management to facilitate effective tooling deployment.
• Adopt and apply company standards and industry best practices related to tooling design and development.
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving tooling-related issues during production phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical discipline.
• Between one and three years of experience in CAD design, with preference given to those familiar with tooling design and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in at least one leading CAD platform such as SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, or NX.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing methods including injection molding, stamping, machining, and assembly lines.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Meticulous attention to detail with capacity to deliver accurate technical documents.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Competency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Enthusiasm for learning modern software, technologies, and manufacturing methodologies.
