Role Overview

As a Time Management Lead Advisor at BMW Group South Africa, you will serve as the expert contact for all time management matters. You will provide essential support for employees, TES contractors, HR teams, Time Administrators, and other internal stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll processing and timely contractor payments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage payroll activities with a focus on time management while consistently meeting business requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to HR teams, Time Administrators, and business units on time management issues.
  • Act as a specialist for HR systems, payroll, and time management inquiries, including problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Validate and oversee TES contractor time inputs to ensure accurate and prompt contractor payment processing.
  • Process contractor time data, attendance exceptions, shift details, and payment-related information in compliance with timelines and governance.
  • Offer specialist assistance to Contractor Steering, Time Administrators, and stakeholders on escalated time management queries.
  • Monitor completeness and precision of employee and TES contractor time data to minimize payroll errors.
  • Support system updates by gathering requirements, generating JIRA stories, preparing documentation, and participating in testing.
  • Contribute to documentation, standardization, simplification, and automation efforts within HR Operations.
  • Deliver training, guidance, and knowledge sharing to Time Administrators and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to BMW policies, internal controls, and legal requirements related to payroll and time management.
  • Perform detailed time management analyses, investigate complex exceptions, and support resolving payroll and contractor payment discrepancies.
  • Represent HR Services in working groups and cross-functional forums pertaining to time management and payroll processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience using SAP HR systems.
  • Bring at least 5 years of expertise in South African payroll and time management administration, especially with complex time evaluations and attendance procedures.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of shift patterns, working time arrangements, absences, attendance exceptions, and payroll time inputs.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to perform accurately in resolving problems.
  • Proficient in Excel and familiar with BMW HR systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, enabling effective stakeholder support across HR Services, Contractor Steering, Time Administrators, and service providers.
  • Work independently with a proactive, organized approach, demonstrating strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
