Job description
Role Overview
The Tender Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing competitive tender submissions, cost estimates, and commercial proposals mainly for projects involving Facilities Management, maintenance, engineering, and additions & alterations (A&A).
Primary Duties
- Develop tender pricing, cost estimates, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various projects.
- Evaluate tender documents including drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
- Obtain and compare quotations from subcontractors and suppliers effectively.
- Assess contractors' quotes and Schedule of Rates (SOR) to ensure pricing competitiveness.
- Prepare comprehensive tender submissions, commercial offers, and respond to tender clarifications.
- Perform cost analysis, value engineering, and risk evaluations to optimize project budgets.
- Maintain accurate and updated tender documentation, cost databases, and pricing records.
Candidate Qualifications
- Possess a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in tendering, estimating, or commercial quantity surveying, preferably within Facilities Management, engineering, maintenance, or construction sectors.
- Demonstrate solid understanding of tendering processes, cost estimation, procurement, contract administration, and SOR pricing methodology.
- Exhibit strong analytical, commercial insight, negotiation capabilities, and effective communication skills.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office tools—especially Excel—and relevant estimating or quantity surveying software.
