Technician, Maintenance (CNG)

Job Overview

This role involves executing diverse maintenance services at ADNOC related to CNG and Hydrogen refueling infrastructure. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency repairs on all equipment at CNG and Hydrogen refueling stations. Coordination with maintenance contractors ensures prompt resolution of major issues while maintaining equipment integrity and adherence to HSE standards.

Core Duties

• Perform corrective and emergency maintenance on electromechanical systems such as compressors, motors, electrical switchgear, MCC rooms, panels, dispensers, and gas systems at CNG stations.
• Respond to user complaints by visiting sites, diagnosing problems, and carrying out necessary repairs.
• Monitor and follow up on maintenance contractors’ work to guarantee satisfactory resolution and standards compliance.
• Conduct site revisits to verify quality of repairs and prepare comprehensive reports for supervisory review.
• Evaluate preventive maintenance reports, especially for chillers, recommending equipment replacement when needed.
• Inspect third-party contractors’ work across various maintenance tasks, checking adherence to schedules and quality standards.
• Assist contractors by providing access and information based on as-built drawings for preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Procure small urgent maintenance items locally using petty cash.
• Handle maintenance complaints logged in the SAP system related to CNG assets.
• Perform routine predictive maintenance tests in alignment with schedules.
• Attend to breakdowns promptly, ensuring swift repair and safe return to service while strictly observing safety protocols.
• Maintain comprehensive filing of all maintenance activities to keep accurate updated records; deputize for fellow technicians as needed.
• Address end user inquiries in the absence of supervisors.

Training and Support

• Deliver on-the-job training aligned with competency-based training programs supporting UAE nationalization efforts.

Tools and Equipment

• Ensure all company-issued tools, safety equipment, and devices are kept in safe and operational condition.
• Coordinate repair or replacement of malfunctioning tools or safety gear.

Time and Process Management

• Complete assigned maintenance tasks within designated time frames.
• Communicate to Supervisor if additional resources are necessary to meet deadlines.
• Recommend and contribute to continuous improvements in procedures, equipment, and operational processes.

Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability

• Follow all applicable HSE policies, procedures, and legal requirements aligned with ADNOC’s corporate standards and sustainability principles.
• Participate actively as a member of the Emergency Response Team.

Housekeeping

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas before, during, and after tasks in adherence to hygiene and housekeeping standards.

Reporting

• Gather technical data from field operations to support preparation of progress reports for management.
• Contribute to method statements and initiate near-miss safety reports when applicable.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering or alternatively a High School diploma.
• Four years of relevant CNG or natural gas maintenance experience for Diploma holders; six years for High School graduates, specifically within the oil and gas sector.
