Job description

Overview

Join a dynamic team in the diagnostics and life sciences industry as a Technical Sales Specialist in New Zealand. This position is primarily field-based with the flexibility to work from home, centered on managing and growing a territory across New Zealand with a special focus on scientific-commercial leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and expand relationships with existing clients throughout New Zealand.
  • Identify prospects and develop new business opportunities.
  • Manage entire sales process from prospecting through implementation.
  • Deliver technical and scientific assistance to customers.
  • Coordinate product evaluations, demonstrations, onboarding, and go-live support.
  • Foster connections with laboratories, scientists, pathologists, and procurement personnel.
  • Create and implement strategies for territory and account growth.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and comprehensive CRM activities.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Background in In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), medical diagnostics, or a related area.
  • Experience selling or supporting specialized diagnostic technologies.
  • Knowledge or exposure to electrophoresis, immunofixation, immunofluorescence assay (IFA), and/or ELISA is highly valued.
  • Excellent technical and commercial communication aptitude.
  • Demonstrated success in sales, account management, or business development roles.
  • Relaxed working independently and willing to travel nationwide within New Zealand.
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand with a current driver’s license.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range between NZD 120,000 to 130,000 per annum.
  • Kiwisaver contributions.
  • Annual car allowance of NZD 20,000 plus petrol expenses covered.
  • Quarterly bonus amounting to 18% of annual salary.

Location and Work Arrangement

Preferred location is Auckland; however, applications from candidates across New Zealand are welcome. This role requires field visits combined with the flexibility to work remotely.
