Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist who excels in dynamic environments, possesses a passion for connecting with people, and is adept at identifying candidates whose talents and values align with both the team and the company culture. This hands-on, impactful position involves comprehensive recruitment activities including reviewing numerous resumes and conducting multiple interviews per day (8–10 during busy periods). The role requires collaboration with hiring managers to uphold a recruitment experience that emphasizes our brand identity, enthusiasm, and principles. This is an onsite role located at our Sherwood Park facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complete recruitment cycles from drafting job descriptions, screening applications, interviewing candidates, to extending offers, ensuring excellent role-to-candidate matches where individuals can thrive.
- Serve as an ambassador for BIS by creating engaging and meaningful interactions for every candidate.
- Quickly and intuitively recognize outstanding talent, relying on strong instinctual judgment.
- Enhance and manage the interview process across various departments.
- Collaborate with hiring teams by providing constructive feedback and insights to align candidate potential with organizational needs.
- Utilize data, recruitment tools, and analytics to continuously refine hiring effectiveness.
- Build and sustain talent pipelines and develop outreach strategies targeting passive candidates.
- Support employer branding activities such as participating in job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities as required.

- Experience working in fast-paced environments where priorities shift rapidly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or similar human resources roles.
- Technologically competent with proficiency in standard software and AI-assisted recruitment tools.
- Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) is advantageous.
- Proven capacity to handle a high volume of recruitment efforts while maintaining quality standards.
- Formal education or certifications in human resources are beneficial but not mandatory.
