Role Overview

Support Workers engage directly with clients both in their homes and communities, providing person-centered care. Based in Central Coast, NSW, this full-time hybrid position combines on-site visits with remote work for documentation, coordination, and virtual communications. Key duties involve aiding personal care and daily tasks, facilitating community outings, implementing individualized support strategies, promoting independence and skill acquisition, supporting access to services and resources, and maintaining detailed records. The role demands adherence to safeguarding and risk protocols, collaboration with families, coordinators, and multidisciplinary teams, and communication that fosters client dignity and safety.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in support roles related to disability or community services, emphasizing a person-centered ethos.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including empathetic listening and proficient verbal and written skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures, duty of care, risk management, and confidentiality maintenance.
  • Familiarity with digital tools for documentation, scheduling, and remote interactions.
  • Desirable qualifications include certifications in disability support, community services, social work, or related disciplines, or ongoing pursuit thereof.
  • Knowledge of NDIS frameworks and individualized support plan execution is advantageous.
  • Capability to operate both autonomously and collaboratively within teams, with effective time management and organizational competence.
  • Australian work authorization, valid driving license, reliable vehicle access, and completion or readiness to complete requisite clearances such as Working With Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening.
