Role Overview

The organization is looking for an insightful Supply Chain Manager responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of materials and services, beginning with raw steel and coil procurement and extending through production scheduling, external processing, and final delivery. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and cost-efficient project fulfillment while establishing scalable, data-oriented supply chain systems that facilitate ongoing growth and digital modernization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) procedures that integrate purchasing, production planning, and inventory objectives.
  • Manage procurement of raw materials such as steel coils and sheets and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Supervise purchasing of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies and vendors handling outside processes including plating, heat treating, laser work, and powder coating.
  • Implement reorder point strategies and safety stock calculations to minimize both stock shortages and surplus inventory.
  • Collaborate with production schedulers to guarantee material availability aligns with prioritized jobs.
  • Utilize ERP platforms to enhance inventory transparency and ensure high-quality data management.
  • Promote the use of real-time supply chain monitoring tools alongside AI-driven analytics for improved decision-making.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and executive teams to develop long-term sourcing plans.
  • Perform in-depth root cause analyses and formulate corrective measures for supplier-related quality or delivery challenges.
  • Participate in daily production meetings with Project Managers and Shop Leadership to align on operational goals.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Between 5 and 8 years or more in procurement or supply chain roles within manufacturing or metal fabrication environments.
  • Hands-on experience in sourcing steel products such as flat rolled steel, coils, slit coils, or sheets.
  • Understanding of metal processing supply chains involving slitting, sheeting, or related operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, establishing, or refining S&OP, demand forecasting, and inventory control methods.
  • Proficiency with ERP or MRP solutions, including but not limited to Sage X3, SAP, or Oracle.
  • Certifications from APICS/ASCM like CPIM or CSCP are advantageous but not mandatory.
