Position Overview

Giffen Consulting Ltd., a reputable Canadian engineering firm with offices in Vancouver and Toronto, is seeking a Structural Drafter to join their team on a full-time hybrid schedule, requiring at least three days per week at the Toronto office. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Autodesk Advance Steel.
• Create general arrangement, detail, and erection drawings specific to structural projects.
• Maintain and build 3D structural models for mining and heavy industrial applications.
• Produce plans, elevations, sections, and detailed views derived from structural models.
• Organize and update drawing sets to facilitate review, approval, and on-site construction activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a diploma in Structural Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
• Status as a Registered Applied Science Technologist in Canada or eligibility to register.
• At least three years of growing experience as a Structural Drafter focused on Mining and Heavy Industrial projects.
• Experience with both greenfield and brownfield open-pit and underground mining projects.
• Competency in producing 2D and 3D drawings, plot plans, profiles, and detailed design elements.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Autodesk Advance Steel is advantageous.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Capability to communicate design concepts effectively to clients.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
