Role Overview

Join our expanding Ireland team as a Structural Designer (Technician) and contribute to complex, cutting-edge projects for prestigious global clients. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team on various phases including feasibility, planning, schematic and detailed design, as well as construction documentation and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D models using Revit and Navisworks Simulate software.
  • Conduct clash detection across multiple disciplines within complex project models.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate in real-time with other disciplines such as mechanical, civil, architectural, and process engineering to develop cohesive designs.
  • Lead plant design components as an area or system sub-leader, coordinating efforts among multi-disciplinary designers.
  • Ensure compliance with detailing standards for steel, concrete, and masonry structures per BS, EN, and international codes.
  • Utilize a broad array of REVIT and CAD tools to generate high-quality design deliverables.
  • Apply sound judgment to develop design plans and alternatives, maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform on-site construction observations and fieldwork.
  • Review construction submittals against contract and design specifications, updating 3D models, drawings, and related documentation as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a National Certificate, Diploma, or Ordinary Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum FETAC Level 6/7).
  • Have at least 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering drafting and modeling.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Irish Standards, Eurocode, and other international codes; familiarity with US and Indian codes is advantageous.
  • Be proficient in 3D modeling software applications.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Experience with design and engineering within industrial or advanced technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with reinforced concrete, steelwork, masonry, and foundations design.
  • A proactive mindset towards problem solving and adaptability to changing requirements.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively across engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors.
