This role is aimed at engineers who want to tackle difficult systems problems end to end, work deeply in the codebase, and take full ownership of major technical challenges.

What You Will Do

You will be responsible for solving substantial engineering problems independently, with broad ownership from start to finish. The environment is built around strong individual contributors who operate with high autonomy and take direct responsibility for outcomes.

Technical Profile

The ideal candidate should have strong depth in operating system internals and networking, from socket-level behavior upward. A solid understanding of memory, concurrency, correctness, and low-level debugging is important, along with the ability to investigate issues that are difficult to reproduce. Curiosity, rigor, and the habit of reading source code to truly understand systems are valued highly.

Key Competencies

• Comfort writing fluently in at least two programming languages and understanding the trade-offs between them
• Ability to debug by reasoning through systems rather than guessing
• Persistence to take on difficult work and complete it
• Genuine curiosity and a strong drive to keep learning
• Low ego combined with very high standards for engineering quality
• Writing code that is maintainable and respected by future engineers
• Knowledge of operating systems, networking, systems programming, distributed systems, storage engines, vector and graph retrieval, low-latency I/O, and protocol design
