Role Summary

This position is based in Borris-in-Ossory, County Laois, requiring full-time commitment averaging 42 hours weekly, typically organized as 3 to 4 shifts of 12 hours each. Compensation includes competitive high pay rates along with additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with everyday living activities and personal growth
• Encourage autonomy and informed decision-making
• Implement and follow person-centred care plans
• Administer prescribed medication and maintain accurate medication records
• Fulfill Key Worker duties by supporting service users to meet their personal objectives
• Keep detailed documentation and generate relevant reports
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team for effective service user support
• Log and address any incidents or complaints involving staff, service users, or visitors
• Availability for both daytime and waking night shifts is necessary

Required Qualifications & Skills

• At least a Level 5 qualification in Social or Health Care Studies or a related field for Social Care Assistants
• A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social or Health Care Studies or equivalent for Social Care Workers
• Registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
• Valid Irish driving licence or currently awaiting driving test, for occasional company vehicle use
• Willingness and flexibility to work both day and night shifts
• Experience in social care or health care settings preferred but not mandatory
• Strong familiarity with applicable standards and regulatory requirements
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
• Successful clearance through Garda Vetting or equivalent police checks
