Job Overview
The Site Engineer specializing in Joinery is tasked with overseeing and managing all joinery installation activities at the construction site. This role ensures that joinery projects are executed safely, timely, within allocated budgets, and conform to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. Effective coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams is essential for seamless project execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all joinery installation tasks such as fitting doors, wardrobes, cabinets, wall panels, counters, furniture, and other bespoke woodwork.
- Ensure all joinery works adhere strictly to approved shop drawings, project details, and quality norms.
- Manage daily on-site activities in collaboration with supervisors, subcontractors, and installation teams.
- Track progress to guarantee timely completion of the assigned joinery tasks.
- Conduct frequent site inspections to verify quality of workmanship and compliance with project criteria.
- Review approved shop drawings to detect and resolve any inconsistencies prior to execution.
- Coordinate between design, production, and factory teams to assure punctual delivery of joinery materials.
- Engage with consultants, clients, and other trades to address site challenges and prevent conflicts in work.
- Participate in site meetings and report progress updates to the Project Manager.
- Manage material shipments and oversee proper storage and handling on site.
- Ensure all installed joinery complies with approved specifications and company quality benchmarks.
- Detect defects or deviations from requirements and initiate corrective measures.
- Compile snagging lists and monitor the swift resolution of defects.
- Support joint inspections with consultants and clients to secure needed approvals.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly progress documentation.
- Keep detailed logs of site activities, inspections, labor force, and material consumption.
- Assist in developing work schedules and future planning.
- Contribute to project close-out activities including preparation of as-built documents and final handover.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or related disciplines.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in joinery, interior fit-out, or woodworking-related projects.
- Prior experience supervising custom joinery installations is preferred.
- Holding a valid UAE Driving License is advantageous.
