The work is centered on the Transcat Way and a values-driven culture where employees play a key role in meaningful, high-impact service.
Role Overview
This position supports shipping and receiving operations by checking shipment details, entering information into systems, and helping ensure outgoing and incoming goods are handled correctly. The role also involves local delivery trips and coordination with freight carriers when shipments are too large for parcel pickup.
Key Duties
The person in this role will verify shipment information against records such as bills of lading, invoices, and orders; record data in company systems; select suitable shipping methods; and coordinate freight transportation when needed. The job also includes labeling cartons and containers, marking shipping instructions, posting weights and charges, handling postage, unpacking incoming goods, documenting shortages or damage, communicating with shippers to resolve issues, distributing items to the right people or areas, and checking that outbound shipments match customer expectations.
Qualifications
To do well in this role, candidates should bring strong attention to detail, prior data entry experience, and comfort with delivery work. A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required, along with at least 3 years of driving experience. The position also prefers experience with Indysoft.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required. One to three months of related experience or training is acceptable, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.

Transcat provides meaningful work, a supportive and values-based environment, flexibility, training and development for career growth, and competitive pay and benefits. Benefits include paid time off, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, a retirement plan, and a stock purchase plan.

Transcat is an equal-opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified individuals with disabilities unless doing so would create undue hardship or a direct threat to health or safety.
Contingencies
Any job offer is conditional upon completion of pre-employment requirements, including identity and work-eligibility verification and, where applicable, a review of the motor vehicle driving record.
