Job Overview
The Shift Incharge plays a critical role in supervising and managing the complete loom operations, ensuring targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, timelines, cost control, safety, and sustainable practices.
Key Challenges
- Training workers effectively on new products, procedures, and fostering a culture of sustainability.
- Managing significant efficiency variations between looms, especially those used for linen, with discrepancies ranging from 20% to 80%.
- Addressing defects and inefficiencies originating from the spinning process as they directly impact weaving quality.
- Handling high variability in flax raw material quality between lots.
Core Responsibilities
- Plan manpower proactively and ensure their full engagement to meet shift productivity goals.
- Balance machine operations and production workflow across processes to achieve set productivity targets.
- Maintain desired product quality at every stage by strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Control production costs by managing waste, manpower, and energy utilization effectively, including implementing energy-saving initiatives and Kaizen projects.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions and maintain excellent coordination with internal customers and suppliers to accomplish 100% On-Time In-Full (OTIF) deliveries.
- Encourage a culture of continuous system improvement and innovation among workers aligned with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
- Uphold housekeeping standards using 5S methodology.
- Enforce compliance with all safety protocols and sustainability standards throughout the processes.
