About the Role

What You'll Do
- Ensure the team follows accepted engineering and design methods, applicable regulations, and client requirements.
- Help maintain consistent equipment specifications, drawing standards, and document templates.
- Apply technical knowledge, legal requirements, and client expectations where appropriate and permitted.
- Use local and international standards to uphold technical quality.
- Support checking activities, peer reviews, and the integration of review comments and findings.
- Provide technical oversight to Telecom designers and draftsmen assigned to the project.
- Prepare and review specifications and data sheets.
- Carry out bid evaluations and review/approve vendor documents.
- Understand project scope, cost, and schedule needs, support the team in meeting targets, and coordinate with other disciplines to keep the project on track.
- Collect information from different sources and develop engineering studies, analyses, and calculations.
- Identify technical challenges, assess alternative solutions, compare advantages and disadvantages, and recommend actions through formal project documentation such as technical queries and technical deviations.
- Compile final documentation with all relevant inputs and work toward client approval.
- Review documents to support colleagues and authorize work where required.
- Assess emerging technologies against current design standards and update designs when suitable.
- Review new technology developments that may deliver more cost-effective facilities.
Job-Specific Knowledge
The role requires relevant Telecom design experience in the oil & gas and infrastructure sectors, along with a strong commitment to HSE management in project environments. Candidates should have solid knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and onshore/offshore engineering practices relevant to Instrumentation & Control design for oil and gas facilities. A strong technical foundation in Telecommunications Engineering, plus awareness of related disciplines, is important. Familiarity with international telecommunication codes, standards, and statutory/regulatory requirements is also needed. A thorough understanding of standards and practices such as TIA, ITU, BICSI, API, ISA, ANSI, AGA, ISO, and IEC is expected.
Education
A full-time bachelor's degree in Computer, Telecommunication, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering from an accredited university is required.
