Senior Structural Designer

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure design work follows recognized engineering methods, legal and regulatory obligations, and client requirements.
• Help maintain consistency across equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
• Apply relevant technical knowledge, legal requirements, and client specifications where appropriate and permissible.
• Use local and international standards to support high-quality technical output.
• Participate in checking activities, peer reviews, and the resolution of review comments and findings.
• Provide offshore structural discipline design and drafting services in line with Worley, client, statutory, and regulatory expectations.
• Use established offshore engineering methods for offshore structural design tasks.
• Review drawings and models and help maintain the quality of deliverables.
• Develop detailed designs from structural sketches and specifications.
• Identify technical issues, compare alternative solutions, outline advantages and disadvantages, and make recommendations for project documentation such as technical queries and deviations.
• Prepare final documentation with all required information and obtain internal approvals.

Quality Assurance

Work in accordance with the company’s quality assurance procedures and guidelines.

Safety and HSE

• Take responsibility for personal safety and follow occupational health and safety procedures.
• Apply HSE principles during the design process, with attention to process safety and best practices.

Education and Qualifications

A Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Engineering Technology in Civil or Structural discipline is required.

Experience and Technical Background

• Extensive experience in brownfield offshore structural design and engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Minimum project experience in oil and gas, with knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards.
• Strong capability in 3D modelling using E3D, S3D, or PDMS, including constructability awareness.
• Ability to extract 2D drafts and produce design drawings.
• Experience initiating squad checks.
• Ability to generate MTOs.
• Good computer proficiency, including AutoCAD, E3D/S3D, or PDMS, along with Excel, Word, and graphical presentation tools.
• Ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information and design sketches.
