Role Overview
The Senior Sales Associate plays a pivotal role in leading by example within retail store operations by delivering outstanding customer service, driving sales goals, and ensuring operational excellence with a strong customer-centric approach and adaptability to change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with customers by understanding their preferences to provide personalized product solutions.
- Resolve customer issues professionally, ensuring their satisfaction and promptly gathering feedback to enhance offerings.
- Consistently achieve store sales targets through solution-oriented selling, upselling, and cross-selling to increase average transaction values.
- Employ negotiation techniques and handle objections effectively to convert prospects into loyal customers.
- Adapt to evolving customer requirements and share market insights with team members to continuously improve sales strategies.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to overcome operational challenges and manage resistance to change.
- Exercise independent decision-making to maintain smooth store operations in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Monitor inventory closely to prevent shrinkage, assist in stock management processes such as replenishment and turnover tracking, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Follow and enforce company policies, procedures, and store standard operating procedures to optimize operational efficiency, escalating issues when necessary.
- Lead in managing urgent situations including escalated customer concerns, ensuring professional and timely resolutions.
- Model accountability, drive goal-oriented performance, and uphold ethical standards within the team.
- Support training and mentoring efforts to enhance team members’ knowledge of products and services.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: HSC with at least 2 years retail experience or graduate with 2 years retail experience.
- Age requirement: between 20 and 35 years.
- Basic proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven history of consistently surpassing sales targets.
- Skilled in delivering exceptional customer service and building lasting client relationships.
- Experience mentoring colleagues and managing cash transactions and inventory.
- Competency with POS systems and relevant retail technologies.
- Knowledge of visual merchandising principles.
- Professional appearance with excellent presentation and grooming.
- Ability to adapt flexibly to varied shift schedules.
