Camunda provides an enterprise platform for agentic orchestration, enabling organizations to coordinate AI agents, human participants, and systems through complex, end-to-end business workflows. The platform integrates governance, audit trails, and human oversight to help businesses scale AI safely from pilot phases to full production. Trusted by over 700 organizations globally, including nine of the top ten US banks, Camunda drives operational efficiency, accelerates time-to-value, and enhances customer experiences.
Operating fully remotely and globally, Camunda is transitioning into an AI-first company, utilizing its own platform to automate and orchestrate smart processes while augmenting human roles.
The company has received notable recognition including GP Bullhound’s Top 100 Next Unicorn, 2025 Great Place to Work certification, a visionary ranking in the 2025 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Business Orchestration and Automation Technologies, and a third-place rank in Flexa's 2026 Most Flexible Companies list.
Role Overview
The Senior Product Builder position focuses on evolving how software is created by advancing the Connectors Experience. This requires blending product mindset, user empathy, UX expertise, and direct hands-on development. The role involves taking ambiguous problems, establishing success measures, and delivering completed features working closely with customers and engineers in an AI-driven environment. Initially the focus is on the web app experience in Hub and Canvas (Web and Desktop Modelers) with possibilities to contribute to other stack areas to speed product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers, deployed engineers, and stakeholders to identify and define relevant user challenges within the Connectors Experience.
- Set feature success criteria and define scope before development begins instead of merely implementing specifications.
- Guide product strategy through pragmatic decisions, rapid iteration, and prioritizing root problem solutions beyond simple request fulfillment.
- Create prototypes and build, refine, and release improvements across Connectors Experience features, owning them end-to-end.
- Leverage AI tools proficiently to quicken drafting, building, iteration, and learning while maintaining high quality standards.
- Critically assess AI-generated content and peers’ deliverables for maintainability, architectural fit, and UX quality; promote reusable design patterns to uplift team standards.
- Collaborate closely with fellow product builders and strategists to convert ideas into deployable solutions.
- Enhance the delivery speed, quality, and efficiency of product development within the team.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide third-level escalation support to ensure system performance meets objectives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience shipping complex software products autonomously rather than just executing predefined tasks.
- Capability to navigate fluidly between product strategy, user experience design, and hands-on development.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and breaking down open-ended challenges into actionable steps.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills suited to a remote, pod-based working style, aiding in sequencing and decomposing tasks.
- Curious about user needs with a preference for rapid learning cycles and iterative product enhancement.
- Direct experience independently developing and delivering sophisticated software products.
- Proficient in AI-assisted development workflows, diagnosing and correcting AI output issues beyond simply fixing results.
- Ability to define and communicate intended user experience comprehensively, covering flows, hierarchy, states, copy, and accessibility, identifying pattern-level UX issues ahead of release.
- Solid product and customer judgment to convert vague guidance into clear strategies, define success, sensibly reduce scope, and act decisively when evidence supports it.
- Sound technical judgment about code quality beyond functionality, including maintainability, test coverage, and architectural compatibility, with potential contributions beyond front-end development over time.
Preferred Attributes
- Background with workflow, orchestration, or operational software products.
- Experience working in small, autonomous teams owning end-to-end processes from discovery through delivery.
- Knowledge of connector creation, marketplace operations, and managing technical partnerships.
- Experience conducting validation activities independently, translating findings into practical product or UX changes, and enhancing lightweight product validation practices within teams.
- Mentoring skills and history of raising build quality outside immediate teams.
