About the Role
Join The University of Western Australia's Payroll Operations team as a Senior Payroll Officer, where you will be instrumental in delivering precise, compliant, and client-focused payroll services in a prominent Australian university setting. This full-time permanent role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively within People & Culture, supporting a dynamic and specialized payroll function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll lifecycle, including reconciliations, journal entries, and statutory reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and punctuality.
- Update payroll systems to reflect changes in legislation, organizational policy, enterprise agreements, and business needs.
- Promote continuous improvement and enhance payroll service delivery through process evaluations and strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
- Extensive experience handling end-to-end payroll processing in medium to large and complex organizational environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation, statutory compliance, awards, and enterprise agreements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with integrated payroll, HRIS, finance systems, and reporting tools; familiarity with aPay and PeopleSoft is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication abilities and stakeholder management skills, capable of providing clear guidance and resolving intricate payroll issues.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to meet deadlines while fostering a positive team atmosphere.
Additional Information
This appointment includes a base salary ranging from $99,040 to $104,669 annually (pro-rata), supplemented by 17% superannuation. Employment prerequisites include a current National Police Clearance and financial vetting. The selection process will verify records concerning gender-based violence, sexual harassment, and related misconduct to comply with legal requirements.
