As part of the Revenue Operations Team, you will operate in a collaborative environment blending accounting knowledge with innovative approaches involving data, automation, and systems.
Role Overview
The Senior Manager for Airbnb Platform Revenue Operations will be responsible for establishing and maintaining financial processes, controls, and procedures that ensure accurate financial reporting and audit compliance related to platform operations. This includes developing, documenting, and testing controls for platform accounts and entities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with finance teams to assess and communicate the financial impacts of business changes.
- Enhance finance leadership’s visibility into platform accounts and key initiatives.
- Work with the platform SOX team to identify risks and design, implement, document, and review effective control measures.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders in payments, compliance, legal, and finance to encourage engagement with Platform Controlling.
- Lead and manage the Revenue Operations team ensuring all processes adhere to close deadlines.
- Provide guidance and mentorship on revenue accounting, GAAP compliance, documentation best practices, and operational processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert sought for insight and advice.
- Oversee critical areas such as invoicing, accounts receivable, bad debt, gift card programs, and collections.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Over 12 years of finance and accounting experience with management responsibilities in large multinational corporations.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in technology, payments, marketplaces, or hospitality sectors, preferably within fast-growing environments.
- Professional certification like CPA or an international equivalent is advantageous, with experience at a Big 4 accounting firm considered a plus.
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP and a proven ability to apply complex accounting standards operationally.
- Experience working with large ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Workday, along with monetization and billing systems; familiarity with payment compliance and reconciliation systems is desirable.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, able to clearly translate complex financial topics across teams and leadership levels.
- Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, mentor, and leverage team capabilities effectively.
- Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional initiatives successfully.
- Leadership in championing AI adoption to enhance processes like closing, reporting, and reconciliations, while ensuring human oversight for audit and SOX compliance.
- Collaboration across Finance leadership, BizTech, and AI initiatives to create accounting-specific AI use cases, training, and governance.
- Passion for nurturing and developing talent within teams.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel with additional skills in SQL and Tableau considered beneficial.
Work Location and Other Details
This position is remote but requires residing in a US state where Airbnb is registered. Occasional visits to office locations or off-sites may be necessary as arranged with management.

Compensation
The expected base salary ranges from $192,000 to $240,000 USD annually, with potential eligibility for bonuses, equity awards, benefits, and employee travel credits. The pay scale reflects various factors including experience, skills, and business needs.
