Overview
This role is offered by a partner organization seeking a Senior Learning Designer located in Canada. The position entails creating impactful online training programs centered on AI, data, and innovative technologies to equip professionals across various career stages with future-relevant skills. The designer will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, clients, operations teams, and instructors to convert organizational needs into creative, research-backed instructional solutions. The role involves shaping curriculum strategy, enhancing learning outcomes, and ensuring measurable client value within a dynamic, remote-first, and cooperative work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop compelling online learning programs by outlining learning goals, structuring course frameworks, generating instructional content, and preparing facilitator resources focused on AI, data, and technology subjects.
- Oversee curriculum development initiatives from inception through to completion, managing schedules, priorities, communications, and quality controls through the content development cycle.
- Convert client business goals into effective instructional designs and learning approaches that correspond with organizational objectives and learner needs.
- Engage collaboratively with subject matter experts, instructors, account managers, and other cross-functional teams to create, execute, and enhance training solutions continuously.
- Advise on optimal instructional methods, delivery formats, evaluation mechanisms, and engagement techniques tailored to target audiences and business goals.
- Provide expertise and forward-thinking ideas to refine instructional design best practices and elevate learner engagement and effectiveness.
- Stay current with advancements in learning technologies, corporate education, AI, and educational technology to continually boost program quality and instructional strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 5 and 7 years of professional experience in instructional design, learning design, or learning and development roles.
- Demonstrated background in designing corporate training focused on AI, data, technology, or related technical disciplines.
- Strong skills and experience developing both synchronous live virtual sessions and asynchronous self-paced learning formats.
- Deep knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design principles, and evidence-supported educational practices.
- Proven capability to juggle multiple learning initiatives simultaneously, balancing client expectations, timelines, and priorities.
- Exceptional writing abilities with great attention to detail in creating high-caliber educational materials.
- Analytical approach leveraging data to assess learning success and drive ongoing program enhancement.
- Highly collaborative, proactive, and flexible to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving workplace.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Candidates must reside in Canada and be able to work during Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary between 105000 and 134000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications.
