About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Graphic Designer to join our Store Support Center in Commerce, CA. Reporting directly to the Director of Brand and Creative, this role is crucial for creating culturally resonant design concepts and solutions across all Chedraui USA brands. This position demands on-site presence five days a week at our 600 Citadel Drive location.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design marketing campaign materials, store projects, grand openings, product launches, and initiatives to engage customers.
- Enhance customer connections through culturally meaningful storytelling, utilizing visuals, typography, and language tailored to diverse audiences.
- Develop and maintain the distinct brand positioning and visual identity across various customer interaction points.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to grasp project goals, customer requirements, timelines, and business priorities.
- Apply deep insights into Hispanic and Latino US demographics, including cultural nuances, language preferences, familial roles, culinary traditions, media habits, and shopping behaviors.
- Organize and manage graphic design documentation, including image archives and related files.
- Support the Creative Director in review sessions, workload distribution, and quality assurance.
- Provide mentorship, constructive critiques, and technical guidance to fellow designers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum five years of graphic design experience in-house, agency, retail, consumer brand, or multicultural marketing environment.
- Expertise in typography, layout hierarchy, color theory, image selection, and production design.
- Use of AI tools where appropriate to enhance concept development, content adaptation, and workflow efficiency, while upholding brand integrity and originality.
- Proven ability to create creative content across various brands or customer segments.
- Strong command of print and digital production specifications.
- Experience developing material for Hispanic or multicultural audiences in the U.S.
Language Abilities
- Professional-level fluency in both Spanish and English with sensitivity to culturally appropriate Spanish communication.
- Capability to read and interpret business documents and write formal reports and correspondence.
- Effective presentation and communication skills for diverse audiences, including stakeholders and the public.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced skills with Adobe Creative Cloud applications like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
Additional Competencies
- Experience in sectors such as grocery, retail, food & beverage, CPG, or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with email marketing, social media content creation, e-commerce visuals, digital ads, environmental graphics, and retail signage.
- Working knowledge of motion graphics, video editing, photography, and art direction.
- Experience with project management tools, digital asset systems, and structured creative processes.
- Understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and digital production norms.
- Able to mentor junior designers and assess third-party agency or vendor work.
Compensation
The salary range offered is between $70,304 and $90,000 annually, dependent on qualifications, experience, and skills.
