Senior Business Analyst - Banking

Position Overview

This role strengthens the supply chain financing solutions team by providing expert business analysis for Connexis Supply Chain applications spanning front and back office functions globally. The Senior Business Analyst will cooperate with Product Managers and operational teams across APAC, EMEA, and Americas to gather requirements, analyze impacts, and develop detailed functional specifications for system enhancements and resolving production issues. Additionally, the role involves defining test scopes for SIT, UAT, and NRT phases and validating results with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Define clear business and operational objectives aligned with new requirements.
• Conduct thorough and structured business analysis.
• Validate requirements to ensure alignment with business goals, operational needs, IT architecture, and security protocols.
• Design functional workflows and solutions while documenting comprehensive functional specifications.
• Facilitate walkthroughs of requirements and solutions with key stakeholders to obtain approval and signoff.
• Develop testing scopes and approaches for SIT, UAT, and NRT; guide test teams in creating and reviewing test cases for stakeholder acceptance.
• Adjust test cases pragmatically to align with resource availability and project timelines.
• Analyze and validate SIT testing outcomes leading to formal approval.
• Support users during UAT planning and execution, including defect analysis and prioritization for fixes by the development team.
• Prepare and review user manuals and release documentation as necessary.
• Provide tactical and strategic solutions for new client needs.
• Assist in data conversion and migration exercises where required.
• Conduct functional analysis and resolution proposals for production defects.
• Ensure strict adherence to banking compliance policies and CIB ITO APAC standards and practices.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Demonstrated strong skills in functional and business analysis capable of bridging business/operations and IT teams.
• Experience in supply chain finance, trade finance, or electronic invoicing applications is highly preferred.
• Effective team player exhibiting commitment, positive attitude, and professionalism.
• Excellent communication abilities and experience coordinating across multicultural and multinational teams.
• Ability to operate independently when necessary.
• Familiarity with data formats such as XML, SWIFT, EDIFACT, ISO20022, and data transformation processes.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and database querying.
• Proven expertise in designing functional solutions for high-volume web applications and microservices, including integrations and API design with REST principles.
• Understanding of designing solutions for environments requiring low latency, high availability, and robust performance.
• Exposure to IT design and development processes is advantageous.
• Good foundational understanding and knowledge relevant to the banking finance domain.
