Role Overview

The Senior Art Director will lead and shape the visual direction for core brand and marketing initiatives across various channels including advertisements, social media, photoshoots, and video production. This role involves creating AI-native creative workflows from concept to final execution, working closely with copywriters, designers, video editors, strategists, and channel stakeholders to translate briefs into engaging creative outputs that advance the LegalZoom brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and define visual strategies ensuring clarity and consistency across brand expressions.
• Convert complex concepts into compelling visual stories aligned with business objectives and audience expectations.
• Enhance and maintain LegalZoom's visual language encompassing typography, color schemes, composition, photography, illustration, and motion design while upholding brand standards.
• Integrate AI technology extensively in creative processes such as moodboarding, image and video generation, asset creation, creative iteration, and performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with video editors to manage AI-enhanced workflows, including color grading, background clean-up, resolution enhancement, and ensuring brand consistency.
• Offer actionable feedback and creative direction to internal teams and external partners to produce high-quality deliverables efficiently.
• Identify and implement AI tools, templates, and workflows that enhance creativity, speed, and quality for both internal and cross-functional teams.

Candidate Profile

• 6 to 8+ years of experience as an Art Director or Senior Art Director, ideally with a portfolio showcasing concept-driven campaigns for contemporary consumer or tech brands.
• Proven fluency with AI-driven creative tools and integrated use of these in daily workflows.
• Expertise in directing video and photo production with a proficiency in pre-production managed by AI to reduce risks.
• Analytical approach to design systems, able to distinguish AI-applicable tasks from those requiring human judgment.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly define design rules and constraints without ambiguity.
• Experience designing for performance creatives and scalable variant testing.
• Advanced skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) along with AI-native tools such as Firefly, Generative Fill, and others like Midjourney, ChatGPT, Claude, Runway.
• Strong collaboration skills across brand, product, growth, and production teams.
• Ability to thrive amidst ambiguity and contribute to evolving creative systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range is $124,000 to $155,000 annually, subject to factors like location, experience, and skill set. The package may include bonuses and restricted stock units.
