This is an opportune time to join Sydney Airport’s Finance team as a Senior Analyst in Capital Assurance, tasked with independently verifying that Australia's major capital projects add value, are financially sound, and meet their goals. This role supports the strategic growth of Sydney Airport by closely partnering with Finance, Strategy, project sponsors, and delivery teams to evaluate business cases, capital funding requests, and financial models, offering clear, data-backed advice to senior executives and governance bodies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess business cases and capital funding submissions for investment logic, financial soundness, and alignment with strategic goals.
• Scrutinize complex financial models, budgets, cash flow projections, assumptions, and funding needs associated with projects.
• Appraise project benefits, risk factors, and preparedness for delivery, offering actionable recommendations prior to major investment decisions.
• Lead Post Implementation Reviews and Health Checks by examining project delivery performance, governance standards, benefit realization, and target achievement.
• Produce succinct assurance reports and executive summaries for senior leaders, Program Boards, and Investment Committees.
• Drive enhancements in business case robustness, financial governance, and investment decision-making processes within the capital project portfolio.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in financial analysis specific to capital projects, investment assurance, infrastructure consulting, corporate finance, or related fields.
• Expertise in reviewing and preparing business cases with strong acumen for investment justification and value creation.
• Academic background in financial accounting, finance, commerce, or comparable disciplines, complemented by sound commercial insight.
• Advanced skills in financial modeling, particularly in evaluating project budgets, cash flow dynamics, forecasts, and underlying assumptions.
• Effective communicator capable of presenting intricate financial data clearly to diverse stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Desirable postgraduate qualifications in finance, accounting, economics, project management, or assurance fields.
• Inherent curiosity and analytical thinking, coupled with the confidence to provide constructive challenges and pragmatic advice.
