Role overview

The company is hiring a Senior Accountant for its finance function in Qatar. This position focuses on revenue accounting, customer receivables, reconciliations, and month-end close support.

Key responsibilities

  • Record revenue entries and reconcile them against customer accounts.
  • Capture customer payments and apply them correctly to outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare receivables aging summaries, collection status reports, and customer follow-ups.
  • Assist with month-end close tasks, including accrued revenue, work-in-progress, and bad debt provisioning.
  • Keep provision and accrual working schedules up to date.
  • Compile withholding tax information and ensure alignment with Qatar tax requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit requests with the needed documents and records.
  • Produce and circulate customer aging reports and updates on collection progress.
  • Work closely with business and operations teams to recover overdue receivables.
  • Communicate with customers about delayed payments and escalate unresolved cases when necessary.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial operations.
  • Solid knowledge of accounts receivable workflows and revenue recognition/accounting.

  • Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, and data handling.

  • Experience working with Qatar tax regulations.
