Senior Accountant

Position Overview

Blue Diamond General Trading LLC is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant specializing in real estate and construction sectors. The role demands meticulous financial oversight, adherence to accounting regulations, and delivery of precise financial reports to aid strategic planning.

Key Duties

• Handle daily accounting tasks such as managing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining the general ledger, and reconciling bank statements.
• Compile, examine, and interpret monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
• Ensure full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), local taxation legislation, and other regulatory mandates.
• Track project expenses, revenue streams, and cost allocation related to construction and real estate ventures.
• Assist external audit processes and communicate effectively with auditors.
• Design and enforce internal controls along with accounting policies and procedures.
• Formulate budgets, prepare forecasts, and perform variance analysis for management’s strategic planning needs.
• Manage cash flow and optimize fund distribution among ongoing projects.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, procurement teams, and relevant departments for accurate financial monitoring of construction activities.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior accounting team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA highly desirable.
• Between 5 and 7 years of accounting experience, specifically in the construction domain with real estate exposure.
• In-depth understanding of project accounting, cost management, and revenue recognition.
• Competence in using accounting platforms like Zoho Books or Oracle.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel coupled with strong analytical skills.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to manage workloads under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
• Experience with VAT submission and regulatory compliance in the UAE or similar jurisdiction.
• Awareness of real estate legislations, RERA compliance, and management of escrow accounts.
