We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take charge of the month-end closing processes and guarantee timely, precise, and compliant financial reports for a dynamic project-based organization. This role involves managing the general ledger, overseeing statutory and tax obligations, and enhancing accounting workflows and controls. The finance team is expected to utilize AI technologies to expedite closing, minimize manual tasks, and boost accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities

- Maintain the general ledger with accurate transaction recordings aligned with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Prepare detailed monthly financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports with supporting schedules and analyses.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, encompassing supplier payments, invoicing based on project milestones, and collections follow-up.
- Administer project accounting activities including cost allocation, revenue recognition using the percentage-of-completion method, and tracking work-in-progress.
- Lead compliance for taxes and statutory requirements such as VAT returns, withholding tax, zakat filings with ZATCA, and ensure adherence to FATOORAH e-invoicing mandates.
- Manage payroll accounting and related submissions, including GOSI contributions and end-of-service benefit provisions compliant with Saudi labor laws.
- Act as primary liaison for the annual external audit, preparing documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
- Administer fixed asset records involving capitalization, depreciation, and periodic auditing.
- Implement AI-driven automation in reconciliations, reporting, and routine accounting tasks while promoting its adoption across the finance department.
- Enhance internal control systems, accounting policies, and supporting documentation as the company grows.
- Provide guidance and review the work of junior accounting staff.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with SOCPA certification required or in progress; CPA or CMA credentials advantageous.
- Over five years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within EPC, contracting, energy services, industrial technology, or other project-centered sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Saudi market regulations including VAT, zakat, electronic invoicing per ZATCA, GOSI, Saudi labor laws related to payroll and end-of-service benefits, and local business practices.
- Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing AI tools such as large language models and automation platforms within everyday accounting duties, coupled with a strong willingness to learn evolving technologies.
- In-depth understanding of IFRS standards, particularly revenue recognition for long-term contracts.
- Experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle or equivalents, alongside advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring clean audits and punctual closes.
- Fluent English communication skills are mandatory; Arabic fluency is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with the wider GCC market is an added advantage.
