Role overview
Bay Street Group is hiring dependable and proactive Security Officers to help protect guests, employees, and property across its complex, hotels, and retail areas. In this role, you will keep access points under control, carry out regular rounds, and respond to incidents and emergencies in a calm, professional way.
Key duties
- Keep watch over staff entry points and manage access control.
- Use the CCTV system, including operating, checking, and monitoring it regularly.
- Conduct routine patrols throughout the complex and hotels, making sure fire exits stay clear and unobstructed.
- Help guide hotel evacuations when fire alarms are triggered.
- Ensure hotel spaces and function rooms are secured and locked when they are not being used.
- Update the security logbook and complete incident reports.
- Look into and document any reports of theft, criminal damage, or other incidents.
- Handle disruptive or undesirable behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
- Escalate maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the supervisor on duty.
- Follow all health and safety rules and procedures.
- Support evacuation drills and other emergency preparedness activities.
Requirements
- You should have at least 2 years of security experience, ideally in a hotel environment.
- Clear spoken and written English is essential; knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
- A valid private guard licence issued by the Malta police force is required.
- You must be physically fit and able to carry out the duties of the role.
- First Aid certification is required.
- You need to be familiar with fire response procedures, bomb threat protocols, and hotel evacuation processes.
- Working knowledge of local laws and government regulations is expected.
