Position Overview

We are seeking a driven microbiologist to join our dynamic team to evaluate the functional capabilities of our engineered microbial biosensors. This role requires ownership in designing and executing diverse assay systems to test functional output across engineered microbial strains, including both model and non-model organisms. The position emphasizes direct laboratory engagement, fostering close collaboration with the Synthetic Biology and AI Data teams, and influencing research methodology at this formative stage of our biotechnology enterprise.

Core Duties

• Conceive, develop, and perform cellular assays for functional screening of engineered microbes.
• Pioneer novel techniques for evaluating microbial activity within unconventional environments.
• Guide experimental strategies impacting the use of microbial chassis in application-specific contexts.
• Work intimately with the Synthetic Biology team to assess promising engineered strains under relevant conditions.
• Consistently meet milestone deadlines and project objectives.
• Maintain thorough documentation of procedures, outcomes, and strain records within an Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN).

Candidate Profile

• Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in Microbiology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or related discipline.
• At least one year of experience assessing engineered microorganisms, preferably with prior industrial exposure.
• Hands-on expertise with engineered microbes; familiarity with non-model and soil-associated species is a strong advantage.
• Skilled in microbial characterization and development of assays tuned to non-model conditions.
• Strong analytical mindset with innovative problem-solving capabilities.
• Capacity for autonomous work and effective multitasking.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
• Adaptable scientist eager to excel within a fast-moving, collaborative lab setting.
