Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end coordination of the data migration project from initial preparation through go-live and post-deployment stabilization.
- Liaise with business teams and project managers across European and North American entities to ensure smooth communication and project alignment.
- Lead the migration strategy by understanding high-level data migration processes, associated objects, dependencies, and oversee migration cutover planning.
- Provide expert technical guidance and solutions to the technical migration team based in India as needed.
- Develop and deliver technical migration objects.
- Engage closely with IT specialists, functional consultants, and process experts to gather accurate migration requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the Central Migration Manager to support and add value where applicable.
- Bridge the technical migration team and cross-functional teams during development and technical unit testing phases.
- Prepare and execute migration planning and cutover activities for each phase of the project.
- Monitor, track, and report project status regularly to the project management.
- Hold full accountability and ownership for all technical migration deliverables.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for data migration within the project.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Over 15 years of professional experience in SAP Data Migration.
- Minimum of two projects serving as Migration Manager specifically for SAP S4HANA rollouts.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Strong expertise in migration management tasks including planning, tracking, reporting, technical consulting, and cutover management.
- Hands-on experience with SAP BODS, having contributed to at least three migration projects using this tool.
- Solid understanding of SAP processes relevant to data migration for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of business object requirements, dependencies, and technical know-how focused on migration cockpit and tools like BODS/Syniti.
- Proficiency in business analysis, business knowledge, and technical solution design.
- Proven history in client-facing roles ensuring effective customer engagement and satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a track record of working alongside diverse teams including interface groups.
- Leadership and collaboration skills to effectively manage and drive the migration team across multiple locations.
- Familiarity with additional migration tools is considered an advantage.
