SAA Business Development & Product Manager

Role overview

This position is focused on accelerating business growth by shaping the sales plan and selling tailored value propositions for specific verticals. The role also serves as technical sales support, with the main emphasis on NSS and a secondary focus on SSS.

Product management scope

Product management covers the full lifecycle of a product, from strategic planning and market understanding to launch, ongoing performance review, and portfolio management. It includes defining the product direction, identifying customer and user needs, building a roadmap, coordinating with teams across the business, and monitoring results after launch.

In practice, the role works closely with engineering, design, marketing, and sales to support successful product development and market execution. The product manager helps align teams around priorities, decisions, and delivery.

Professional level expectations

This is a professional individual contributor role centered on subject-matter expertise rather than direct people management. The role may include mentoring less experienced colleagues, informal supervision, or oversight of work processes and programs.

Work ranges from handling assigned objectives independently to becoming a recognized expert who influences longer-term tactical choices. Progress in this stream reflects deeper professional knowledge, stronger project management ability, and greater influence across stakeholders.

At this level, the colleague contributes to broader decision-making, including the creation of practices, processes, and procedures. They understand the business, their own function, and how it connects with other teams.

They operate independently within a defined framework, have clear decision-making authority, and are expected to solve complex problems by identifying root causes accurately. They also consider wider business impacts and work across functions when needed to reduce risk.

Leaders at this level may also create departmental plans based on the functional strategy, execute them through a team of professionals, and support talent development through coaching and mentoring.
