Role Overview
Join The AA as a Roadside Assist Mechanic and become the dependable face that helps motorists get back on track, regardless of the weather or location. You will operate independently across different locations, starting and concluding your day from your home driveway, utilizing your technical skills to resolve diverse roadside difficulties and ensuring a superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Begin and end your shifts from your home, with pay covering the entire work period from van departure to return.
- Work autonomously across varied environments while being part of a supportive team network.
- Employ your expert mechanical knowledge and effective communication skills to assist and reassure customers.
- Handle a broad array of roadside repairs swiftly and calmly using your technical expertise.
Qualifications and Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent credential supplemented by relevant practical experience.
- Possession of a full Category B driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Willingness and aptitude to use new technology and tools with curiosity and adaptability.
- Availability to work flexible shift schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays to accommodate unpredictable breakdown incidents.
Working Hours and Earnings
Shifts amount to around 40 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options tailored to fit your personal and professional life preferences. Guaranteed earnings in the first year stand at 32,347 (inclusive of location allowance), with the potential to earn up to 44,000 on-target earnings for top performers.
