Restaurant Utility Worker

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking to add a Restaurant Utility Worker to the team in Simpsonville, SC. This position helps keep the restaurant clean, safe, and operating smoothly through routine cleaning, deep cleaning, and basic upkeep of the building and equipment.

The role is a fit for someone who is dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment where cleanliness, preventative maintenance, and safety are important.

What you will do

• Complete all training required by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks and basic maintenance work.
• Clean restaurant equipment regularly and perform preventative maintenance.
• Check equipment, run tests, and identify issues that may need repairs.
• Handle minor lighting repairs.
• Perform thorough cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and follow equipment manuals, work orders, safety instructions, and operating procedures.
• Regularly inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for preventive maintenance needs.
• Complete basic repairs when needed.
• Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Follow all operational standards, company policies, and franchise guidelines.
• Work safely and comply with all safety procedures.
• Stay flexible and be willing to take on additional tasks as needed.
• Report HR and risk management concerns right away to the General Manager and District Manager.
• Escalate other issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
• Support any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations running properly.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• For full-time availability, the role requires 32 to 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong leadership traits, good organization, and the ability to work well with others are important.

Physical and work environment requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb occasionally, including using ladders.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
• Frequent hand and wrist use for gripping and precise movements.
• Ability to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
• Must be able to observe and respond to the environment using sound visual and audio awareness.
• Work may involve indoor and outdoor conditions, including hot and cold temperature changes and exposure to food and outdoor allergens.
• Must be able to operate restaurant equipment safely, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous equipment.
