About the Role
Temple University's College of Liberal Arts Psychology Department is inviting applications for a Research Assistant position. This role supports a multi-site study focused on identifying biomarkers and predictors related to clinical and behavioral outcomes in individuals at risk for psychosis and psychiatric comparison groups. The successful candidate will assist in data collection and management, performing clinical interviews, cognitive testing, and biosample collection activities including EEG and MRI data acquisition as well as blood sample processing.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct semi-structured clinical interviews and administer cognitive assessments at various study time points.
- Assist with biosample collection and processing, including EEG, MRI, and blood sample handling (blood draws performed by a phlebotomist).
- Support active clinical trial activities, aid lab staff with daily operations such as participant recruitment and data management.
- Supervise undergraduate volunteers involved in research tasks.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required along with at least six months of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
- Experience working or volunteering with individuals with mental health disorders or vulnerable populations preferred.
- Background in data management.
- Preferred skills include experience with MRI, EEG, psychophysiological assessments, and clinical interviewing.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to utilize statistical and research software such as SAS, SPSS, R, Qualtrics, Redcap, Python, or STATA.
- Flexibility to work during evenings or weekends as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranging between $15.38 and $19.24 depending on experience and departmental considerations.
