Key Responsibilities
The role involves end-to-end management of grant applications from submission through to completion, fostering sponsorship initiatives within the university. Primary duties include supporting faculty in developing, reviewing, and submitting proposals ensuring compliance with internal policies; collaborating with the Applied Research and Innovation Academic Manager on grant submissions, budgeting, and payment tracking; and acting as intermediary among faculty, funding agencies, and governmental bodies to oversee and update sponsorship agreements. Responsibilities also encompass coordinating proposal requirements with internal and external contributors, providing feedback for proposal improvement, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and institutional guidelines, maintaining up-to-date databases and records on awards, and preparing financial reconciliations for audits. The specialist will engage in promoting research initiatives, monitoring proposal statuses, advising Principal Investigators on procedural deadlines, researching best practices to develop training tools, budgeting for institutional commitments, and disseminating knowledge on funding policies. Participation in meetings, workshops, and miscellaneous tasks as necessary will also be expected.
Qualifications and Requirements
The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, with preference given to those possessing a Master’s degree. A minimum of five years experience in research administration, grant handling, budget development, or grant writing is essential. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is mandatory to fulfill role requirements.
