Role Overview
This freelance assignment is for a packaging designer who can help refine the visual identity of a new consumer cleaning brand launching in the US market. The work centers on improving the packaging for the hero product so it looks strong on shelf and is ready for production.
You will build on the brand direction and early mockups already developed by the founders. The goal is to elevate the design through stronger typography, cleaner layout, and print-ready execution. This is a startup-style project with the possibility of continued collaboration as the brand expands.
Key Deliverables
- Polish and improve existing packaging concepts and mockups for a CPG cleaning product.
- Strengthen typography, composition, and visual hierarchy to improve shelf appeal.
- Prepare final artwork and production-ready files for printing and label manufacturing.
- Make sure the designs satisfy the technical needs of bottle packaging and larger production runs.
- Work with the founders to review feedback and align the output with the brand direction.
- Advise on suitable materials, finishes, and print setup when needed.
Requirements
The ideal designer should have prior experience creating packaging for consumer brands, preferably within CPG or cleaning products. A strong portfolio demonstrating packaging, label, or print work is important, along with confidence using Adobe Creative Suite tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. You should understand print production workflows and how to prepare files correctly for manufacturing. A sharp sense for typography, color, and layout is essential, as is the ability to work quickly, communicate clearly, accept feedback, and start immediately. Ongoing work may be available beyond the initial engagement.
