Role Summary

The Quality Lead - High Security will provide both technical and leadership guidance within the quality discipline of the High Security Squad's Product Development. The role focuses on ensuring delivery of reliable, high-quality software by enhancing quality standards, embedding rapid feedback loops, and integrating quality throughout planning, design, and operations. This leader will lead a skilled team of test analysts committed to maintaining the highest product standards for government and critical infrastructure clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish, deploy, and continually refine quality frameworks, testing methodologies, and agile delivery processes across multiple teams.
• Integrate quality considerations early into project planning, design, and delivery phases to detect risks and defects promptly.
• Advocate for automation, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), effective tooling, and monitoring to minimize late-stage inspections and enable sustainable change.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Project, and Support teams to eliminate quality obstacles, oversee release readiness, and enhance delivery results.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to quality professionals, focusing on their wellbeing, performance, and career progression.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in software testing or quality engineering within agile environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of software development lifecycles with expertise in manual and automated testing methods.
• Familiarity with contemporary delivery pipelines incorporating automation, tooling, monitoring, and CI/CD practices.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a passion for mentoring and growing others' skills and career paths.
• Excellent judgment, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills, with an ability to evaluate and convey quality risks clearly.

Security Requirements

This position requires obtaining and maintaining at least a Confidential security clearance. Eligibility for clearance demands New Zealand permanent residency and continuous residency in New Zealand or one of the Five Eyes countries (NZ, USA, UK, Canada, Australia) for the prior five years.
