Quality Engineer

About the Role

As a Quality Engineer at Satair, you will support the development and continuous enhancement of an independent safety and quality system aligned with regulations such as CAAs, ISO9001, AS9110, and AS9120. Your role ensures effective monitoring of compliance, managing safety data, and aiding internal and external quality and safety queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact for Safety & Quality Management and Training Management.
• Oversee and advance the Safety Management System to meet operational effectiveness.
• Develop and manage training programs including policy adherence, trainer selection, and competence evaluations.
• Administer safety reporting schemes and lead investigations of internal incidents.
• Conduct or support hazard identification and safety risk analyses.
• Track and evaluate the impact of safety risk controls and corrective actions.
• Deliver regular safety performance reports.
• Plan, organize, and provide relevant safety and quality training sessions.
• Maintain detailed records related to training and aviation safety.
• Stay informed on aviation safety issues impacting repair operations.
• Coordinate aviation safety emergency response plans.
• Establish and maintain safety data collection and processing systems to facilitate safety performance management.
• Analyze safety data to identify trends and emerging issues supporting data-driven decisions.
• Foster an open communication culture and a motivating team environment.
• Manage supplier discrepancies and customer claims effectively.
• Issue certificates of conformity and authorized release certificates as required.
• Perform studies and assessments for new capabilities.
• Lead or participate in practical problem-solving initiatives.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.
• Backup team operations as arranged with the Manager.
• Provide quality-related process support and guidance within the organization.
• Report declines in safety or quality and suggest mitigation strategies.
• Promote quality and safety awareness organization-wide.
• Assist in monitoring and investigating customer complaints and warranty issues.
• Support development of new processes with relevant departments.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electronic, or Electrical preferred).
• At least 2 years' experience in aviation production/maintenance; 1 year in safety and quality assurance is advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge with ability to understand detailed engineering and quality principles.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and Component Maintenance Manuals.
• Good command of English in both written and oral communication; able to comprehend procedural documents and regulations.
• Effective presenter and trainer.
• Familiarity with airworthiness regulations and AS9100 series standards is beneficial.
• Skilled in analyzing inspection results and determining optimal solutions.
• Computer literate; experienced with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and SAP software.
• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to perform well under pressure demonstrating integrity and a results-driven mindset.
