About the Role

The Quality Control Inspector – Assembly Section plays a vital part in maintaining high standards within the manufacturing process by examining mechanical and electrical assemblies. This role involves in-depth inspections throughout assembly, identifying defects, ensuring corrections are made, and confirming that products meet all required drawings, specifications, and quality benchmarks before being released for use.

Main Duties

  • Carry out in-process checks on mechanical assemblies to ensure correct alignment, installation, and dimensions.
  • Inspect electrical assemblies by reviewing wiring, connections, and continuity against technical specifications.
  • Conduct final examination of assemblies to verify all parts are installed and operating as intended.
  • Compare finished products with engineering specs, drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
  • Perform and document functional and continuity tests on completed products.
  • Check the installation of hardware components like hinges, latches, gaskets, and fasteners.
  • Identify, record, and report faults, deviations, and other non-conformities in assembly processes.
  • Utilize digital measuring instruments and inspection tools to validate precision and assembly standards.
  • Guarantee all inspection instruments are kept in proper working order and are regularly calibrated.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Production teams to address quality-related concerns and provide feedback for improvements.
  • Re-inspect corrected items to ensure full compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain thorough records of all inspections, including checklists, test results, and documentation of non-conformances.
  • Assist with ongoing efforts to minimize assembly errors and enhance quality.
  • Adhere strictly to internal quality protocols and industry standards during all inspection activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or another technical field.
  • At least 4 years of assembly inspection experience in manufacturing or related industries.
  • Strong skill in interpreting engineering drawings, assembly schematics, and bills of materials.
  • Advanced use of gauges, measuring equipment, and inspection devices.
  • Solid familiarity with mechanical fit-up, electrical continuity checks, and functional product testing.
  • Expertise in identifying non-conformities, reporting issues, and participating in corrective actions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of dimensional tolerances and criteria for assembly quality.
  • Exceptionally observant and analytical, with effective problem-solving abilities.
